Graduate ‘Hothouse’ Academy Scheme
The Graduate ‘Hothouse’ Academy Scheme is an initial three year programme. It consists of working from the outset in all departments, commencing with Administration, progressing to Paraplanning and Investment Management whilst studying simultaneously to successfully qualify through examination to an advanced level , and thereby achieving the professional designation of Dip PFS or equivalent.
Successful candidates will be chosen from selected graduate applicants.
The first year of employment will be spent in the administration department, whilst after an initial probationary period of six months the candidate will be prepared to undertake up to three special projects on research and development within the professional disciplines of Investment Management, Financial Planning, and Marketing.
Attainment of the basic professional qualifications through study and examinations are expected to be achieved over the initial 18 months of employment resulting in the designatory letters Cert PFS or equivalent.

The expected time span for the development of all necessary, skills, knowledge, experience and competence in order to advise members of the public face to face is five years although theoretically it may be possible in as short a period as three years.
There will be an initial six month discovery and probationary period through which all candidates will be expected to serve.
The appointment will consist of a minimum initial period of 18 months in our administration department; this will be concurrent with study undertaken with a view to attain the basic professional qualifications through examination resulting in the designation of Cert PFS or equivalent.
Proceeding on from the initial 6 months of employment it will be expected that the trainee undertakes a minimum of three special projects over the following 12 months which will be concurrent to but not impinge on his/her normal workload in the Administration department. These projects will comprise of research and development within the three professional disciplines of Investment Management, Financial Planning, and Marketing under the direction of the Head of Paraplanning.
At some point between 19 months and 24 months it is expected that, subject to satisfactory line management assessment, the trainee will progress to work on all aspects of Paraplanning and will continue to study concurrently for advanced qualifications through examination resulting in the designatory letters Dip PFS.
After careful assessment of competence, knowledge and skills the employee may be approved at some point between 37 and 48 months to commence work as a trainee adviser . |
